Ephesians 4:22-24
22that, regarding your previous way of life, you put off your old self [completely discard your former nature], which is being corrupted through deceitful desires,
23and be continually renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh, untarnished mental and spiritual attitude],
24and put on the new self [the regenerated and renewed nature], created in God’s image, [godlike] in the righteousness and holiness of the truth [living in a way that expresses to God your gratitude for your salvation].
The Holy Spirit through Paul really makes it quite simple doesn’t He?
Wanna grow?
Wanna live a holy, sanctified, righteous life as Jesus did, pleasing to our Father?
Well the first thing you can do is get rid of all the things in your life that tarnishes your spirit. No matter what it is. TV programs, certain types of books. (maybe, I said maaaybe even certain genres), Games of all kinds (video, tabletop, imagination) comics, manga (I know, I know sob😩sob.) Friends a ton of that stuff is soooooooo anti Christ and you know it!
Put! It! Down!😤
That is, if you want a closer walk/life/experience with the Holy Spirit/Jesus/ABBA. If this isn’t your goal in life, (and you claim to be a Christian) well I insist you look back over your life, and find where you walked away.
Repent and seek the LORD while He may yet be found.
I am not saying cut out all these things indiscriminately. There are things I enjoy.
For instance, video games, certain fan fiction.
( haven’t been able to get back into fanfiction again tho. It’s gotten pretty dark)
Comics, & manga, both I had to walk away from. The over sexualisation of females is extremely disturbing to my spirit. Plus it quenches the Holy Spirit who resides in my spirit.
(Oh Lord God have mercy!)
Just get rid of the the wicked things & sometimes put down the things that take your attention away from the time we should be spending with God. Show God He is first, and most likely you’ll be able to pick your little hobby back up. (If you’ll even want to. God has a way of completely removing desires from your life.)
