Message to Sardis
1 “To the angel (divine messenger) of the church in Sardis write:
These are the words of Him who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: ‘I know your deeds; you have a name (reputation) that you are alive, but [in reality] you are dead.

2 Wake up, and strengthen and reaffirm what remains [of your faithful commitment to Me], which is about to die; for I have not found [any of] your deeds completed in the sight of My God or meeting His requirements.

4 So remember and take to heart the lessons you have received and heard. So then, if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.

4 But you [still] have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes [that is, contaminated their character and personal integrity with sin]; and they will walk with Me [dressed] in white, because they are worthy (righteous).

In examining myself I must be honest, I don’t see a worthy person. I see exactly who Jesus said none of my deeds are completed. ….sigh

I am here in response towards a true terrifying scenario, in your warning to the church of Sardis. To live in a community of believers. To be a member of a local Body of Jesus Christ. To do works in the church for the church, in the name of the Church.

But the deeds you have designated for myself since before the foundation of the world I have not finished. Some maybe I don’t even know I’m to do, Jesus, I haven’t even started.

What can I do Lord?
I am older now.
My body is broken beyond repair.
I have no true resources to do anything.
I am afraid I have made all this improvement with my relationship with you.
Only to drop the ball right at the goal line.

Jesus what I know of your character. You never give a warning hoping the people under the hearing of said warning…
DO NOT LISTEN!
If that was the response you wanted you’d just never give a warning then.
However since you’ve given a warning, Jesus you have a way!
