14 Do not be mismatched with unbelievers; for what do righteousness and lawlessness share together, or what does light have in common with darkness?

15 Or what harmony does Christ have with Belial, or what does a believer share with an unbeliever?

16 Or what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,

17 “Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR
MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,”
says the Lord.
“AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS
UNCLEAN;
And I will welcome you.
18 “And I will be a father to you,
And you shall be sons
and daughters to Me,”
Says the Lord Almighty.

I find it amazing here the distinction of what is said by our Father. More than most considering His relational existence with us, We would see His position from the inside of us.

John 14:23
23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.

But here God talks about living around the person whom He has called. Walking amongst him or her.
So the idea of us being unequally yoked with unbelievers does not just pertain to marriage.
Because when you are matched with a person you are in a relationship with that person.
Whether marriage, or business, or recreational, or friendship. Whatever it is we are asking God to tolerate watching us engage in practices of a hypocritical nature.
Because let’s be honest those of us with experience. We know when darkness & light mix, where light is making the compromises.
Light always dims.
So brothers & sisters please consider this command. A lot is riding on us being obedient & not conjoining holiness with unrighteousness.
